This is the first time I have ever strongly felt a emotional weight as I cast a ballot.
As someone who is 3rd generation German and has spent a healthy amount of time overseas, I absolutely believe that this election is going to determine if we remain a democracy or if we will have a drastic, costly turn to fascism.
As an indigenous person with ties to marginalized communities, I cannot fathom what will happen if democracy does not prevail this election. Here’s hoping for a peaceful, inclusive, equitable future for all Americans.
